The funeral date of a teenager who drowned in a Foulridge reservoir has now been confirmed.

While there is no specific dress code for the event in memory of James Goodship (17), his family are asking that anybody wanting to attend wears pink socks.

James, a former Colne Park High School student and Lord Street Primary School pupil, died after getting into difficulty in water at Lake Burwain Sailing Club on Sunday night. His body was recovered on Monday morning.

His funeral will be held at St Bartholomew’s Church at 2pm and Colne Cemetery at 3pm on Thursday, July 3rd.

Anyone wanting to follow James’ hearse to the church is asked to meet at 1-30pm in Duke Street.
