Police appeal for accident van driver

POLICE have appealed for the driver of a white van which was involved in a collision with a child pedestrian in Marsden Hall Road, Nelson, on Sunday morning to come forward.

The accident occurred at around 11 a.m. close to the junction with Hallam Road.

The driver, said to be a white male, is understood to have stopped to check if the young girl was not seriously injured before driving off towards Walton Lane.

The girl is said to have suffered minor facial injuries, a cut knee and lacerations to her hip.
