Police are taking no further action over allegations that a leading Pendle councillor removed a rival party's election leaflet from a letterbox.

The deputy leader of Pendle Council, Liberal Democrat Coun. David Whipp, admitted to removing a Conservative leaflet while delivering his own, after being recorded on CCTV.

Pendle Council referred the matter to the police who have now said they are taking no further action.

Local elections are due to be held across the country on May 6th.
