Callous thieves, who broke into a barber’s shop, made off with a charity box.

They smashed three locks off the back door and ransacked Funk Odyssey in New Market Street, Colne. The break-in was discovered by shop owner Paula Slater when she arrived at the premises last Thursday morning.

Paula said: “They nade a mess but luckily didn’t take any equipment although they did take the float and the charity box which had around £40 in it so they could not sink any lower than that.”

There was an attempted break-in at the shop before Christmas and police are now making inquiries into the burglary.

Paula, who took over at the salon 10 years, re-opened for business on Tuesday. She added: “We will carry on, it is business as usual. My customers were shocked this happened but they have been very supportive.”
