Residents launch fight against 212 homes plan for Colne

residents living in the Knotts Drive area of Colne have called a meeting on Sunday to launch a campaign to fight a major housing development near their homes.

Pendle Council confirmed this week that it had received an application from Persimmon Homes to build 212 houses on land off Knotts Drive, stretching across several fields towards the Nelson boundary.

Concerned residents have already held one meeting, and another is being held at the Crown Hotel in Albert Road at 10am on Sunday which it is hoped will be attended by local councillors.

Anyone wishing to comment on the application should write to Pendle Council’s planning department at Nelson Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, before Thursday, September 27th, quoting the application reference number 13/12/0397P.

The application, which also includes plans for associated roads, open space, parking and garages, is expected to go before councillors before the end of the year.
