Detectives have appealed for information following a robbery at a shop in Barrowford.

The incident happened at Bargain Booze on Gisburn Road at around 8-55pm on Saturday, September 28th.

The two men, both wearing hoods and with scarves covering their faces, entered the shop and demanded the shop worker open up the till, making threats towards her.

When the shop worker refused, one of the men entered the till area and managed to grab a tin containing a quantity of cash. Both men then turned and fled from the shop.

DC Steven Acres, from Burnley CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this incident to come forward and contact the police.

“Unfortunately it is not possible to see the men’s faces from the CCTV images, but I would appeal to anyone who recognises the men from the clothing worn, or to anyone who has any information at all about this incident to get in touch.

“This was a very frightening incident for the shop worker who has been left shaken following her ordeal and officers are providing her with support.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Acres or DS Charlie Haynes at Pennine CID by calling 472240. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at www.crimestoppers.co.uk.
