The lucky Year 1 children at St. Paul's Church of England Primary School in Nelson have had some very special woolly visitors this week, spending time with a group of three-week-old lambs.

As expected, the lambs proved a massive hit with the youngsters, and provided a real learning experience for the children, who got to feed them and pet them.

"The children had lots of fun and let them have a real insight into the farming world, especially as they have a planned trip to a farm in the upcoming weeks," said Mrs Stewart, the school's Administration Officer.

"We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved - especially Mrs Hazel Waddington from Stephenson's Farm in Bolton by Bowland, who brought the lambs in - and say well done to the children," she added.
