SALTERFORTH is set for a canine invasion on Monday as a new puppy socialisation class starts.

Lynn Southworth, and her husband Paul, set up Doggy Day Care and Dog Walking in 2009 after closing the Post Office they ran in Kelbrook.

And they are now offering a six-week course on puppy training at Salterforth Village Hall.

The course gives puppies the chance to play in a supervised and controlled way, giving them the confidence they need to cope in the human world.

They will also start to learn some of the skills that well behaved dogs need such as walking nicely on the lead and coming back when called, plus their owners will have the opportunity to learn how to cope with the antics of their new puppy.

Lynn said: “Lack of early socialisation is the main reason that dogs become fearful and fear is the main reason that dogs become aggressive

“What most new puppy owners don’t realise is that the optimum period for puppy socialisation ends at about five months of age, which is why our puppy courses are only open to puppies under 20 weeks old.”

For more information, contact Lynn or Paul on 07980 378 761 or via the website at www.doggydaycarelancs.co.uk
