POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a road traffic collision in Waddington.
Around 11-30 a.m. yesterday (Sunday), a Kawasaki motorcycle was involved in a collision with a Ford Mondeo in Fell Road, at the junction of Mill Lane.
The rider, a 39-year-old man from Haslingden, was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for four hours to allow collision investigators to carry out their work.
Sgt Steve Wignall said: “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this collision is now under way. If anybody was in the area at the time and witnessed it I would urge them to come forward.
“The motorcyclist was travelling with another rider and I would urge anybody who may have seen any of the three vehicles before the collision to contact police.”
