Earby motorcycle crash: witness appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses after an Earby man sustained significant head injuries in an accident in Bleara Road on Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred at approximately 8-30pm near Harden Old Barn when the 34-year-old was riding a Keeway 125cc motorbike which left the road colliding with a stone wall.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance where he remains.

Stoneybank Road and Bleara Road were closed by police until 11-20pm while accident and investigation work was carried out.

Sgt Tracey Ward, of the East Road Policing Unit, said: “The motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries as a result of this collision and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the accident and may have seen what happened to contact us.”
