A young woman driver had to be rescued after her car crashed into a dry stone wall.
Fire crews had to stabilise the car which was teetering on the four foot high wall in Burnley Road, Gisburn. A spokesman for the ambulance service said fire crews from Nelson and Barnoldswick were sent to the scene at about 7.20pm on Wednesday night.
The spokesman said: “A car had left the road and collided with a wall.
“The driver was not trapped but there was a danger the car could topple so we waited for crews to stablise the vehicle and stop the car from toppling.*
Firefighters used cables and a winch to prevent the vehicle from moving while paramedics rescued the casualty.
