Fire crews have been dealing with a burst water main under a road in Nelson.

Two fire engines from Nelson attended the incident in Southfield Street at 11-15am.

The water was lifting cobbles and threatening to flood houses.

United Utilities have since isolated the supply to the burst main and firefighters remain at the scene pumping away the residual surface water.

There are no casualties.
