Donning their swimming gear and playing with beach balls and inflatables, outgoing Trawden Brownies had a splashing time raising money for charity.
The youngsters wanted to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support after one of their leaders Karen Pashley (Tawny Owl) took part in this year’s Great Manchester Swim.
They decided to take on their own “silly mile”, walking around Trawden Community Centre doing funny arm movements, and singing songs. They raised £160 as a result of their efforts.
Tawny Owl Karen said: “The girls were fantastic and really entered into the spirit and we had a lot of fun while raising the money.
“Their fund-raising took my total to over £460 which was more than double my target. So a big thank you to the Brownies.”
