Two-car smash closes road in Sabden

A mother and child escaped serious injury after the Suzuki Ignis they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a Nissan Qashqai in Sabden.

Emergency services were called to Whalley Road at 2 pm on Saturday after the two- car collision.

The woman driving the Suzuki sustained injuries to her hand and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital. Her child was unharmed.

The male driver of the Qashqai, who was in his 60s, suffered no injuries. The road was closed for some time.
