THE battle is on to find two Pendle people to join the board of award-winning Pendle Leisure Trust.

The trust is a non-profit distributing organisation, providing leisure facilities and wellbeing activities in the Pendle area.

It aims to work with public, private and voluntary sector partners to improve the provision of services for the benefit of the community.

It is responsible for providing leisure and recreation activities at its eight facilities - Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne; West Craven Sports Centre, Barnoldswick; Pendle Wavelengths and Inside Spa, Nelson; Marsden Park Golf Course, Nelson; Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre, Nelson; the Muni theatre, Colne, and the ACE Centre in Nelson.

Chairman of the board Mr Keith Folley said: “We would like to recruit two people to complement the skills and commitment of our existing board members and provide the management team with strategic direction.

“These positions are unpaid - however, expenses may be available. The board welcomes applicants who have a genuine commitment and interest in local leisure services.

“To complement the skills of the existing board, we would particularly welcome applicants with a background and experience from health or the legal professions.

“This is a real opportunity to make a difference to leisure and recreation provision for the people of Pendle.”

Letters of interest should be sent to: Mr K. Folley, Chairman, Pendle Leisure Trust, Town Hall, Albert Road, Colne BB8 0AQ by Monday, February 27th.
