Have your say

I have recently come to the conclusion the council has devised a cunning plan to discourage visitors to Colne.

People are now living longer so how do the council treat pensioners, the many using public transport, the disabled and young families requiring baby-changing facilities?

The answer, they close the toilets then expect local businesses to provide them. What a ridiculous situation in a town which previously boasted numerous toilets.

One answer could be to follow the lead of many other towns, including Skipton, and convert the bus station toilets to coin-operated, usually 20p. The building is ideally situated for the town centre and bus station. As it already has electricity, water and drainage, it shouldn’t be a mammoth job, while the revenue from it would go part way towards its maintenance.
