This field is in Barrow, adjacent to the fishing lake, petrol station, McDonalds and the A59.
Taken on Sunday morning, the photo shows our peaceful field on the last day before its council-sanctioned destruction.
The field has served as an open public space for Barrow villagers and dog walkers for decades.
But on Monday a start was to be made on ripping it up for housing.
Everything must go, the hedgerows, the birds, the rabbits – the lot. And this is only the start.
So remember this picture in years to come. When we all look back at the Great British housing scam and finally realise it was only ever about generating extra cash, income and profit for the whole gaggle of property-related vested interests.
