In response to the letter from “Concerned Resident” regarding the old General Gordon pub. I, too, would like the questions answered as to how the building suddenly became a tile centre after planning permission had been passed for it to be a private residence. How did that happen?
The old pub has double yellow lines all around it on a very dangerous corner, which concerns local residents. On Friday, June 24th, around 4 p.m., it was noted several cars were parked on either side of the road around the building, not only on double yellow lines but on pavements. So where is our traffic warden when we need one? Will we have to wait for a fatality before anything is done?
The building is a real eyesore too, with more signage around it than at Tesco superstores.
