AN exchange trip, set up by Burnley Football Club, saw Barrowford Celtic Under 12s welcome German opposition to East Lancashire.
FC Paderborn, a side made up from children of British soldiers based in Germany, arrived in the area in order to forge strong links.

And a successful trip saw Celtic emerge 4-0 winners, as well as organising a return trip next year.

The locals also made a presentation of an inscribed crystal vase to their German opponents prior to the game.

Meanwhile, the Under 14s came up against teams from Holland, Belgium and Germany on a recent Valkenberg Tour.

However, they only managed one victory, a 3-2 win over a German side in their final game.

Prior to that, the locals played out a narrow 1-0 defeat to Belgian hosts Lanklaar VV, before travelling to Holland for a 4-2 loss to CHC Orka.

The club also took in a tour of PSV Eindhoven's Philips Stadion, and would like to thank sponsors A. and B. Vehicles, and Danny Kegg for organising the trip.
