THE Twenty/20 form of cricket has taken off in spectacular fashion.
And Friday night sees two Pendle rivals go head-to-head in a charity encounter (wickets pitched 6-45 p.m.).

Barrowford and Pendle Forest, who both ply their trade in the Mewies Solicitors Craven and District League, will lock horns in a best-of-three series.

And the winner will not only claim the bragging rights, but will be awarded the Pendle Cup, sponsored by Stanworth Engineering.

Organised by Nick Burton and Pete Hakin, the first leg will take place at Bull Holme tonight.

A second game will then be held at Pendle Forest, and should a decider be needed, that will take place at Nelson's Seedhill ground.

Each of the 10 players on each side, barring the wicket keeper, has to bowl two overs, with the sides already finalised.

Burton and Hakin will act as skipper for their respective sides, with all money raised being donated to the charity Breast Cancer.

Other sponsors for the event include Pendle Denture Centre, who are sponsoring the man-of-the-match award, and Barrowford Safe and Locks, who are the match ball sponsors.
