MEMORIES of 1988 will come flooding back at Holt House on Saturday.
Colne entertain AFC Emley in their third pre-season friendly of the summer (kick-off 3 p.m.).

And it will evoke fond memories of Colne Dynamoes' FA Vase success against the same club at Wembley 20 years ago.

A solitary extra-time strike from Stuart Anderson sent the Lancashire hordes into raptures, at a packed Wembley stadium.

And the two sides will do battle again tomorrow, with the hope of turning it into a regular pre-season meet.

Not only that, but the two clubs could be set to lock horns again at the end of August.

Should both win their FA Cup extra preliminary round encounters, with Colne set to host Vodkat First Division side Daisy Hill, they will meet again, this time at the Welfare Ground, on August 30th.

And that game is just seven days before Colne kick off their latest FA Vase adventure, when local rivals Darwen visit Holt House in the first qualifying round on September 6th.

Meanwhile, Colne warmed up for tomorrow's match with AFC Emley with a 5-2 hammering of Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday, thanks in part to two goals from Martin Broderick.

A reserve side were beaten 4-0 at Crosshills last week, with another reserve side set to travel to face Haslingden St Mary's tomorrow (3 p.m.).

Tuesday sees the Reds host Padiham, while two games on Saturday, August 2nd, see the first team host Burnley Under 20s while a reserve side travel to Nelson.

And the Reds conclude their pre-season preparations with a trip to Thackley on Tuesday, August 5th, before kicking off the new season at home to Congleton on August 9th.

And they face to Bears again in their other foray into cup action, travelling to Booth Street to face them in the second round of the Vodkat Challenge Cup on Saturday, November 8th.
