A TRIP taking in some of the borough's most historic and rundown buildings was taken by HRH Prince Charles.
Setting off on the Marton Emperor, which had had a mammoth eight-and-a-half-hour journey from Foulridge yesterday, the 20-minute trip on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal allowed the Prince to look at the Weavers' Triangle and discuss proposals to transform the area into a vibrant mix of houses, restaurants, bars and offices.

Aboard to boat, Prince Charles heard about the detailed plans to regenerate Finsley Wharf by St Modwen Properties plc and the Hurstwood Group's desire to transform other key parts of the Weavers' Triangle.

He stepped off the broad beam boat near the derelict Victoria Mill before setting off to round off his trip at Burnley Town Hall.

To read more about Prince Charles's visit, pick up a copy of Tuesday's Burnley Express.
