Barnoldswick beat Salesbury by 29 runs on Saturday to climb to 10th in the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League.
But with the league splitting into two sections after last weekend’s fixtures, Luke Hodgson’s men still find themselves in the relegation places in Section A, above Ramsbottom Cup winners Ribblesdale Wanderers.
Barlick are, however, now only 10 points adrift of Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, as they look to avoid the drop - which could see them replaced in the top flight by derby rivals Earby, who are top of Section B, with a 13-point cushion.
On Saturday at Victory Park, Barnoldswick batted first and reached 214-5 against Salesbury, who are battling with Earby for promotion.
Umar Saddique was finally out 10 runs short of his century, while Hodgson produced a captain’s innings, as he finished unbeaten on 77.
Salesbury hit 185-9 in reply, built around 74 from Scott Wharton, as Barnoldswick’s overseas amateur Louis Delport took 8-69.
It was another five-wicket mininum haul for the South African left-arm spinner South African, who arrived from Belville.
With the senior division teams having played each other once, the league splits tomorrow, with Barnoldswick travelling to Settle.
