Colne Cricket Club have signed South African Bjorn Fortuin as professional for the 2017 season.
The 22-year-old is a slow left arm all-rounder who represents the Lions at franchise level.
Speaking about his new paid man for the forthcoming Lancashire League campaign, captain Matt Walker said: “His average of just over 37 with the bat, including a highest score of 194 and a shade over 28 with the bowl, with best bowling figures of 8-58, outlines the talent that Bjorn possesses.
“He comes highly recommended from a number of colleagues at the Lions who have no doubt he’ll excel in the Lancs League next season.”
Bjorn recently picked up the ‘Bowler of the Match’ award during the Lions T20 victory over fellow franchise side Dolphins, collecting match figures of 3-21 from four overs.
The club would like to thank Cric Intro for helping to secure this exciting signing.
