Colne Cricket Club are closing in on a new professional, as they announce three new additions to their amateur ranks.
The club have moved to sign opening bowler Andy Hakin from Ramsbottom, and the Nelson pair, top order batsman Tom Bradshaw, and bowler Adil Ali.
Team manager Gary Hunt said: “Andy generates good pace and bounce, has a terrific attitude and we are extremely confident that he will make a real difference. He is a player that is proven at Lancashire League level and we have wanted him for a few seasons.
“Tom is an exciting young prospect, he has already enjoyed some success at first team level with Nelson notching his maiden 50 in 2012, and he will get plenty of opportunities at Colne. He is also an outstanding fielder and a competent wicketkeeper.
“And Adil took 33 first team wickets at an average of 22 from only 160 overs for Nelson this year. He turns the ball both ways and creates problems for batsmen.
“These signings demonstrate that we are not prepared to accept the sort of team performances that we had last season. We hope to announce the signing of a new professional in the next week or so who will complement the strengths of our amateurs.”
