A century from Sam Mumms helped Earby 2nds ease into the next round of the Lawrenson Cup.

Mumms hit 110 as and he and Martyn Windle , who fell agonisingly one run short of his own century, gave Earby a commanding total of 326.

If Cherry Tree thought the punishment was over, following these two, they were worng.

Jason Lockley and Rory Robinson decided they were going to have some fun and accelerated the scoring rate adding a hundred runs in the last nine overs.

Entering the final over they were both on 46, a quick chat and sure enough they both made the half-century, Robinson off the last ball.

The visitors had clearly decided at the interval that they had no chance of the win and would use it as “good practice”.

They were then bowled out for just 86 with Jason Lockley 5-12, Adam Yates 3-9 and Luke Hipgrave 2-13 doing the majority of the damage.
