Nelson’s Under 13s A team had three wins out of three over the week.
Against Burnley, Nelson totalled 272-2 in their 16 overs, with Keiran Cunningham unbeaten on 21, while Tim Barnes, Ben Dinning and Jamie Randall all reached double figures,
In reply, Burnley were restricted to 196, Spencer Phelan starring with the ball, taking 4-10, with two wickets each for Sam Johnson, Randall and Cunningham.
Against Rishton, Nelson, with some excellent fielding, kept their opponents to 212-7, with the wickets shared out.
In reply, Nelson finished on 278-2, as Tim Barnes made 20, and Johnson and Cunningham each finished 17 not out.
Then against Accrington, Nelson earned their eighth straight win.
Nelson struggled to 234-5, with Johnson on 13 and Randall 15.
However, excellent fielding, and three wickets from 11-year-old debutant Edward “Freddie” Garner, saw Accrington close on 220-6.
The Under 9s had a 39-run victory over Ramsbottom.
Tommy Davis (12) and Zakariya Naeem (13 not out) saw the locals to 265-2.
Davis then took three wickets and Naeem 2-5 to contain Ramsbottom to 226-8.
