Burnley will travel to face Scottish Championship side Rangers in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 21 (7.45pm kick-off).

The fixture will see the Clarets meet Rangers for the first time since September of the 1922-23 campaign when they lost 2-0 in a benefit game for Alex Archibald.

They played each other twice that season in friendlies, with the reverse fixture being a benefit fixture for the Victoria Hospital as Burnley ran out 3-0 winners with goals from Bob Kelly and Joe Anderson (2).

Clarets manager Sean Dyche worked with new Rangers boss Mark Warburton at former club Watford and they remain good friends.
