Colne youngster Neil Davies will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale and Burnley’s own Sam Vokes on Wednesday night as a player escort for Wales’ friendly international with Iceland at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The eight-year-old won a competition through the McDonald’s KickStart website, and will walk out onto the pitch with Chris Coleman’s side for the first home international of the year.
Neil said, “It will be amazing to be on the pitch with players like Gareth Bale. I’m really excited and can’t wait to be there!”
Ian Rush, McDonald’s Head of Welsh Football, said: “I’m sure the Player Escorts will thoroughly enjoy the occasion. The McDonald’s football programme is about giving youngsters footballing opportunities they’ll never forget, and I’m certain this match will be one of them.”
