Megan fires Celtic into final

Brierfield Celtic’s Under 12 girls came back from a goal down to run out 3-1 winners on Sunday and go through to the final of the consolation cup.

A hat-trick from Megan Rambadt saw them finish deserved winners.

Celtic’s Under 9s Blue team also made it through to the cup final after a hard-fought game which they managed to win 2-1. With the team also standing within striking distance of winning the league, the lads have had a fantastic year.

l PENDLE Forest Under 7s Vipers put in a determined performance against Daneshouse. Keeper Connor was named man of the match and Jack S also scored a great goal.

A well-taken strike from Alfie Percival and a brace from man-of-the- match Finn Buck rounded off the friendly game between Forest Under 8s Cobras and Padiham Saints.

Forest’s Under 9s Dragons kept their cup final dreams alive as they overcame Barrowford Celtic Orange after extra-time.

Wills and Connor scored in normal time, before Connor added two more in extra time, along with a goal from James as the Dragons eased home .

Barrowford Celtic struck four as they overcame a battling Forest Under 10s Falcons 4-3 to take their place in the final of the Consolation Cup.

Falcons star man Ben Dugdale, with a stylish double, and Alfie Carmichael, from close range, scored, but the Falcons were always chasing the game against their classy opponents who now face Pendle Forest stablemates the Panthers, who beat Barnoldswick Town earlier in the morning, in May’s final.

Pendle Forest Under 16s White earned a well deserved 2-2 draw against table-topping Rishton Utd, with goals from Ben Lee and Andy Hill.

Man of the match was Brandon Strutt for a fine defensive display.
