Barnoldswick Town have hosted two prestige friendlies over the week, with FC United of Manchester and Clitheroe visiting the Silentnight Beds Stadium.
Silentnight extended their sponsorship of Town into a 10th year, celebrating the new deal at the FC United game, which the Conference North side won 4-2 with first half goals from Callum Byrne (2), Matthew Wolfenden and Tommy Greaves.
On Saturday, Town took on two matches in the same afternoonat Irlam Steel, winning the first 4-3 before losing a second 2-0.
And on Tuesday night, Town went down 5-1 at home to Evo-Stik First Division North neighbours Clitheroe.
Striker Louis Mayers netted twice, while Blues skipper David Lynch, summer signing Scott Harries and former Nelson man Jonny Hession added to the scoreline.
Former Shawbridge youth player Tom Jackson scored the home side’s consolation.
Town were at Rochdale Sacred Heart last night, before a trip to Hemsworth MW tomorrow, Thackley on Monday and Steeton on Tuesday night.
The home game against FC United of Manchester saw special guests in the form of Hippo and Duck, as Silentnight’s mascots took part in a penalty shoot-out against Barnoldswick Town juniors.
