It’s been an impressive start to the football season for Park High’s Year 7 boys, who have had an unbeaten run to claim the Pendle title.
In their first competitive match playing together as a team, they met Marsden Heights and showed exceptional teamwork skills and technical ability, coming away with a 9-1 victory.
Their next match against West Craven High saw a fast start which blew the opposition away and, despite a plucky attempt at a second half comeback by West Craven, the game finished 5–2 to Park igh.
Continuing their winning streak, they faced a tough team from Fisher More, where they were under a lot of pressure from a strong side for the majority of the game, with clinical counter-attacks and resolute defending playing a huge part in the match.
In the final match, they dug in hard and once again dominated, achieving a blistering 11-1 win against Pendle Vale.
Harry Clark, central midfield, spoke of his pride of being involved in the team: “It’s exciting to be part of something that’s had this success in only our first half term together!
“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season!”
The lads are training hard to continue their level of success in other sporting activities.
