Chris Walton smashed 125 against Clitheroe at the Applegarth, but the champions recovered to earn a 24th win of the season.
Iain Clarkson won the toss for the home side and elected to bat, but Josh Marquet and professional Kashif Siddique reduced the locals to 28-2, removing paid man Fahif Rehman (12) and fellow opener Jake Greenbank (11) respectively.
In-form Chris Walton built another excellent innings, scoring his first senior century - although he lost partners at the other end as Earby were dismissed for 220.
Siddique finished with 6-106 for Clitheroe, with former Nelson man Tom Lord adding 3-72, and the pair opened the reply, Siddique smashing three fours and a six off Jake Hargreaves’ first over.
Rehman removed Sidduque for 40, and the champions went from 69-1 to 121-5.
However, Jack Dewhurst’s unbeaten 89 saw Clitheroe to a five-wicket win.
