THE “Burnley Express”, James Anderson’s quest to deliver England 2011 Cricket World Cup glory begins in a week’s time.

The 28-year-old right arm pace bowler, hoping to find consistency from his exhilarating displays in the Ashes win over Australia, will begin his voyage for the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy next Tuesday in the Group B match against the Netherlands in Nagpur.

The tournament, held in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, will see three-times runners-up and current Twenty20 World Cup champions England face two of the hosts, India and Bangladesh, as well as South Africa, West Indies and Ireland in the group stages.

Anderson will be hoping to bounce back from England’s 6-1 defeat in the recent one-day international series, after being the last of the 14 teams to arrive on the subcontinent for the marathon competition.

He was, of course, the leading wicket taker in the Ashes series.

Eight years ago he sprung to prominence at the World Cup, with a match-winning spell against Pakistan, where he took four wickets in a day/night game to pick up the man of the match award.
