Marsden Park captain David Cloxten drove into office on Saturday, along with new junior captain Thomas Nicholson in damp conditions.

The picture shows the effect of the downpour that morning, and with the rest of the course being waterlogged, the scheduled competition was cancelle.

The hardy souls who had braved the weather, including Honorary member and President of ELGA Brian Goodwin, adjourned to the clubhouse for refreshments.

l Marsden Park Golf Course was transformed for a new breed of golfers a week last Saturday night, as players took on the course in the dark!

Six holes were converted for the event, which saw fairways and greens marked out with lights, making it look more like a runway!

Stuart Buckley, Golf Course Manager, said: “This unique way of playing golf brought a completely different aspect to the game. We will certainly look to repeat this event.”

The night took on the form of a Stableford competition and the winners were Nathan Lingard, Martin Shaw, Phil Storey and Kelly Jenkinson.
