Over the Bank Holiday weekend, four swimmers from Colne ASC travelled to the Palatine Leisure Centre to take part in the Blackpool Rocks Open Meet.

Miranda Bower, 14, was second in both the 50m backstroke and freestyle, fourth in the 100m freestyle, sixth in the 200m breaststroke, seventh in the 50m butterfly and eighth in the 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke.

Abbie Hampshire, 14, was fifth in the 400m freestyle, eighth in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m freestyle and ninth in the 50m backstroke.

Zak Smith-Shelley, 12, was 14th in the 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke, 18th in the 50m butterfly, 21st in the 50m freestyle and 22nd in the 100m freestyle.

Danielle Baxter, 12, in breaststroke, was 19th over 200m, 24th in the 100m and 30th in the 50m, 32nd in the 50m Butterfly, and in freestyle, 33rd in the 400m, 33rd in the 200m, 34th in the 100m and 36th in the 50m, also finishing 41st in the 50m backstroke.
