Beverley Wellock’s Colne Lady Captain’s Day proved to be a huge success, raising £120 for Pendleside Hospice.

Long serving member Sue Burgoyne won the Lady Captain’s Trophy on a card play-off with a score of 92-20-72 from Sandra Harris, with Tina Fishwick’s 95-20-75 third.

Last year’s Lady Captain Anne Black won both the nearest the pin in two on the 18th and the longest drive.

Best Gross was won by Ingrid Massie, with Anne Waddington taking the best nett in the 30-36 Category.

The Hewitt Bowl was finally played recently, after being abandoned due to inclement weather earlier this season.

Round one was won by Steven Reid (83-19-64) from President Tony Ingram (78-11-67) and Roy MacKenzie (85-17-68).

And round two saw Gary Birtwell’s 83-20-63 take the honours ahead of Andrew Kellet (76-10-66) and Alex Cocker (81-13-68).

That meant the overall winner was Mr President (73+67=140), from Matthew Birt (69+71=140) and Reid (77+64=141).

Last Saturday, Roger Harris’ Captain’s Day was won by Guy Bretherton (71-3-68), from David Chadwick (86-17-69) and Birt (76-7-69).

Sunday’s Captain’s Texas Scramble was won by John and Sue Burgoyne and Stephen and Cheryl Barnes’ 64-14.6-49.4.
