At Ghyll Golf Club, Debbie Richardson (101-25- 76) achieved her second victory of the season, lifting the prestigious bowl presented in the 1920s by Lady Harriet Nelson of Gledstone Hall – a Ghyll member and wife of Sir Amos Nelson, the textile magnate.

Anne Preston (106-28- 78) and Rosemary Fort (111-32- 79) were second and third.

Well over thirty Ghyll golfers accompanied Alec Russell on the Captain’s trip to Worsley Park Golf and Country Club. Craig Lemon (40 points) took the individual prize ahead of Stewart Airdrie (37) and Steve Mortimer (34).

Lemon and Airdrie continued their winning streak, partnering Carl Hillary to glory in the earlier team competition from the trio of Anthony Foulger, Ian Graham and Maurice Hendleman.

Harry Ayton (45 points) won his first junior competition, taking the Stephen Town Memorial Trophy, while Josh Carlos (41 points) and Spencer Datkiewicz (38) completed the placings.
