Pendle Forest Ladies’ Hockey veterans’ side have reached the quarter-finals of the All-England Cup - the last 8 in the country!.
It is a major achievement for the local side, and they will be playing their quarter-final tie this Sunday at 2 p.m., at Marsden Heights School astroturf.
Their opposition are Ben Rhydding, which represents a tough game for Forest.
All spectators will be appreciated and welcome at the venue.
Forest veterans won through to the last eight for the first time in the club’s history by beating Doncaster 1-0 with a goal from Judith Hind.
Forest could have been 3-0 up in the first 10 minutes if they had converted their chances, as they dominated the first half.
Doncaster didn’t know what had hit them, but after the break they came at Forest and had a succesion of short corners.
Great defensive work kept Doncaster out as the Forest team tired, but Hind’s goal proved enough to set up a big date for the locals.
