Foulridge swimmer Hannah Raistrick enjoyed an excellent weekend at the North East Region Championships in Sunderland recently.
The 11-year-old won the girls’ 11-years 100m freestyle in a Skipton club record time of 1:06:10, which puts her in the top 10 quickest swimmers in that event nationally.
Hannah, who left St Michael and All Angels Primary School in Foulridge this summer to attend Skipton Girls’ High School, also finished in the top 10 in her other events.
She swam a personal best in the 100m breaststroke of 1:28:58, and was also in the top 10 in the 100m and 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley
Hannah qualified for the event courtesy of her impressive form at the Yorkshire Swimming Association Winter Competition at Ponds Forge.
She produced one of the performances of the weekend, finishing with three top 10 placings and gaining four North Eastern region qualifying times.
In Sheffield, Hannah, was eighth in the 100m backstroke with a personal best of 1.17.50.
She sliced 10 seconds off her personal best while coming eighth in the 200m individual medley in 2.48.32, and she rounded off the weekend with a tremendous swim in the 100m freestyle to finish sixth in 1.07.43 to set a club record - which she then beat again in Sunderland!
