On Saturday, Philip Croxall of the Colne ASC Masters Team took part in the Carlisle Aquatics Masters Swim Meet.
Philip, swimming in the 45 to 49 years age group, won the 100m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly, was second in the 100m Individual Medley, 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke, and third in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke.
On Sunday, a young Colne ASC travelled to the Palatine Leisure Centre, Blackpool for their latest fixture in the Micro League of the North West.
They were up against Preston B, Leyland B and hosts Blackpool B.
Colne struggled from the outset against the three of the stronger teams in the division and finished fourth place with 72 points. Preston B won, with Leyland B second and Blackpool B third.
The Colne swimmers managed six new personal bests for the girls and one among the boys.
Colne’s next and last fixture is at the Leyland Leisure Centre on Sunday, June 29th against Leyland B, Garstang A and Carnforth B.
Recently, Colne travelled to Fleetwood YMCA Leisure Centre for their second North West Micro League fixture.
The hosts Garstang, along with Kirkham were too strong for Colne and Burnley. The winners of the contest were Kirkham with 151 points, two ahead of Garstang. Colne fought valiantly to come home in third place with 93 points, with Burnley Aquatics on 71 points.
