Charlotte Hartley grabbed a Halloween hat-trick as Pendle Forest made it seven wins from seven with a 6-0 win at home to Liverpool University on Saturday.
Forest went ahead when Lisa Crewe fired a diagonal ball across the park from left to right, finding Hartley unmarked on the edge of the D.
Unselfishly, Hartley passed the ball round the goalkeeper for Karen Wignall to tap in on the back post.
The second goal came from a penalty corner, slipped to the left for Cathy Waters to strike home, making it 2-0 at half time.
Seconds after the break, Liverpool Uni were awarded a penalty corner, and after failing to convert, Forest then found themselves at the other end with a penalty corner of their own. A Liverpool player then left the field with a green card for dissent, and Forest did convert through player of the match Wignall, slipping the ball past the keeper.
Forest gained a fourth goal with some well-timed balls flicked on in succession Olivia Bythell to Waters, eventually finding Hartley, who took on the keeper and angled her shot home.
Hartley grabbed her second of the match from a short corner when the initial strike from Crewe was saved, for Hartley to smash home the rebound.
Forest saved their best until last when a well timed interception from Crewe in the middle of the park saw her pass the ball out to Wignall on the right wing, and she turned provider for Hartley.
The first team are away at Wigan tomorrow.
The second team faced Leyland and Chorley in a tricky third against fourth place match, losing 6-3, despite goals from Judith Hind and two from Hayley Baines.
The second team play Southport at home at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
