Jenny Eyton-Jones, 25, from Barnoldswick, recently won the 2016 SEIB Insurance Brokers Search for a Star Riding Club Show Horse Championship at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS).
Jenny rode her own horse, Kerannen Brynn, to victory in the final at the prestigious Birmingham NEC venue.
Jenny bought the seven-year-old Thoroughbred x Welsh Section D when he was just three-and-a-half years old, and broke him in herself. “His show name is derived from the names of his breeders, Anne Miller and Keren Field”, said Jenny, who got married recently and had to put her honeymoon on hold until after HOYS. “We are limited to what shows we can do as we have to borrow a wagon to get there. But he just loves the limelight”, continues Jenny, who works as a nurse.
The 2016 series of the popular SEIB Insurance Brokers Search for a Star began in April with five qualifiers throughout the country. Now celebrating its 20th year, SEIB Search for Star offers the opportunity for riders to experience the thrill of qualifying for and riding at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show for the first time.
