Central Pendle Academy have enjoyed a brilliant run in the recent Pendle Schools Badminton tournaments.

The Under 14s boys were the first to show promise with Jack Burrows and Luke Williamson progressing through to the semi-final stage. Dominic Comerford then reached the semi-final in the Under 16 boys single competition and was unlucky not to make the final.

The Under 16 girls then stepped up to the mark and Vicky Acheson-Gray and Emma Worden fought off tough competition from West Craven in the final to become Pendle Champions.

Dominic Comerford then teamed up with Michael Hodson for the Under 16s doubles to earn their place in the final after beating competition convincingly in the group and semi-final stages. Their tactical play ensured they held off the opposition from West Craven to be crowned as Pendle Champions. Dominic and Vicky joined together for the mixed doubles competition but lost out in the final game of the group stage while Michael and Emma made it to the semi-final.

All the Under 16 champions are in current Year 11 and therefore will not participate in another Pendle Schools Badminton Competition.
