Medals galore for Colne ASC Masters!

On Saturday, four members of the Colne ASC Masters Team travelled to the North Bay Indoor Pool in Scarborough for the Yorkshire Open Masters Championships.

And between them they won six golds, six silvers and six bronze medals.

Swimming in the 40 to 44 years age group, Stephen Smith won the 100m Freestyle and the 100m Individual Medley, and also finished second in the 200m Individual Medley and the 50m Freestyle.

Also in the the 40 to 44 years age group, Karen Driver won the 200m Individual Medley and 200m Freestyle events.

She also finished second in the 50m Breaststroke and the 100m Breaststroke, and was fourth in the 100m Freestyle and the 100m Individual Medley.

Philip Croxall, in the 40 to 44 years age group, won the 100m Backstroke, and was second in the 100m Breaststroke, and third in the 200m Individual Medley, the 100m Freestyle, the 200m Freestyle and the 100m Individual Medley.

John Penswick, in the 70 to 74 years age group, won the 100m Breaststroke, and was second in the 50m Breaststroke, and third in the 50m Backstroke and the 50m Freestyle.

On Sunday, the Colne ASC Micro League Team travelled to the Palatine Pool in Blackpool for their third fixture in the Micro League of the North West.

They managed to win nine of the races during the course of the gala to finish third with 105 points, behind Preston and Leyland.

Colne managed a further seven new personal bests.

The final fixture of the season will take place at Leyland against teams from Leyland, Carnforth and Wigan on Sunday, June. 26th.
