A blustery day favoured Nelson’s low men in the club’s Professional’s competition at the weekend.

The winner, following several card play-offs, was Joe Beneduce with a 76-11-65, followed by Luke Ormerod’s excellent 68-3-65, having to settle for second place.

Adam De Luze, Steve Emery, Steve Duerden and Dave Lavin each recorded nett 66s.

Division Two also saw card play-offs between Rob Howarth (83-17-66) and Andrew Mulligan (82-16-66).

Yet another set of play-offs saw Keith Sutcliffe, Barry Niel and Ken Suggett all record nett 67s.

Nick Uttley once more took the gross prize with his 70.

Meanwhile, Nelson’s Joe Flannagan, 15, scored a hole-in-one during a recent club competition to be rewarded with a limited-edition BOSS watch.

Joe scored his ace on the 168-yard, par-three 11th at Nelson, and the six-handicapper was rewarded with membership of the exclusive BOSS Watches H1 Club.
