THE final of Pendle Pool’s Individual Knockout proved to be a one-sided affair as Simon Duerden was crowned champion.
Colne Snooker Club’s James Watson was the more adventurous in a tenuous opening at Colne Legion, but pots win prizes, and it was Duerden who capitalised on his opponent’s inaccuracy to take the first frame.
An equally cagey second frame saw Watson force a great opportunity to level, but a poor shot selection at the business end of the frame left him snookered on the final black. Playing out of the snooker was easy, but Duerden was left with an easy steal to go two up.
Frame three saw the experienced Crown man pile on the pressure and it was too much for Watson as Duerden completed a comfortable victory to take the title of individual champion.
