A full field in excellent course conditions saw members of Marsden Park compete for Captain David Perks’ prize.

The men’s competition proved to be a close affair, with only two shots separating the top five.

Stuart Mulligan took the Captain’s prize on a card play-off with a score of 76-10-66 from Nick Alderson, who realised on the first green that he had forgotten his putter, so he played all 18 holes using his 4 iron as a putter!

His score of 84-18-66 was one shot better than Martin Horsfield’s best gross of 72-5-67, who beat Ian Cinnamond’s 91-24-67 , again on a card play-off, with Peter Edwards’ 80-12-68 taking fifth place.

Janet Kelly’s season continued in victorious fashion, taking the ladies’ prize with 38 points, five points ahead of second place Julie Alderson, with the ever-improving Natalie Cinnamond taking third place.

James Henagham’s great score of 41 points took the junior prize, with Jake Proctor in second place.
