Trawden’s Ross Crosby, on the Appleyard’s Beta, won Westmoreland Motor Club’s Lonsdale Cup on Sunday in wet conditions.

What was always going to be a difficult day was made even harder with the awful weather at Firbank, but Ross produced the ride of the day on the hard course to win from Richard Gaskell on his Ossa Moto UK TR280, and William Brockbank on his D3 Racing Sherco 300 .

Ross is now getting ready to travel up to Fort William next week to contest the famous Scottish Six-Day Trial - rated by many as the greatest motorcycle trial in the world, since it’s origin in 1909.

Riders are lured from all over the world, and the event has the same status as the Isle of Man TT has to road racers.
