It been a busy period for member of Pendle Tri Club.
It all started with the Pendle Triathlon Festival at West Craven Sports Centre, sponsored by local firms Razamataz, GoVelo and Outdoor Resources.
There was the Traditional distance event consisting of 750m swim, 22km cycle and a 5km run, a sprint triathlon – a 400m swim, 22km cycle and a 5km run – and a GoTri Eventconsisting of a 250m swim, 11km cycle and a 2.5km run.
The sprint distance event was also part of the Triathlon England North West Adult Series. The events attracted nearly200 competitors.
Steven Gregory, from Rossendale Tri Club, won the Traditional distance event, and the fastest female was Sarah Vickers of Calderdale Tri Club.
The fastest local male was Emmanuel Cruz, and the quickest local female was Gill Robinson.
Three teams also competed in this event and the team winners came from GoVelo.
The slightly shorter Sprint distance event was won by Martin Cain of Tri Guru Traithlon Club, with the fastest female being Angela Knowles. Third in the women’s race was Pendle Tri Club member Sally Tidswell.
The GoVelo GoTri event was won by Tony Robinson from Pendle Tri Club and the fastest lady was Victoria Crowley.
Club members have also attended events in Wilmslow and St Annes, and a few club members tackled the challenging Rossendale event.
